District Attorney Hoovler Warns Public Not to Drive Impaired or Intoxicated While Celebrating New Years

Law Enforcement Will Be Looking for Impaired and Intoxicated Drivers

Orange County District Attorney David M. Hoovler, on Friday,December 29, 2023, urged Orange County residents to make safe transportation plans for the upcoming New Years holiday.  Law enforcement will have targeted enforcement on area roadways in order to identify and stop drivers who are impaired or intoxicated.

“Let’s make sure that 2024 kicks off with cheerful and safe celebration,” said District Attorney Hoovler, “Impaired or intoxicated driving results in preventable and terrible outcomes, including arrest and prosecution, let alone injury or death to other motorists or pedestrians.  Law enforcement will have targeted enforcement to help keep our roads safe for us all.  Do your part and arrange for safe transportation home and do not get behind the wheel of a car after you have been drinking.  It’s never been easier with programs such as Dana Distributors’Decide to Ride Campaign which offers cab rides and Uber vouchers to ensure everyone gets home safe.”
