OCDA Hoovler Campaign Endorsed by the New York State Fraternal Order of Police

July 6, 2017

The New York State Fraternal Order of Police has endorsed Orange County District Attorney David M. Hoovler’s re-election campaign based on his “demonstrated and continued support of police professionals,” according to the announcement letter.

With over 20,000 members statewide, the New York State Fraternal Order of Police is the oldest and largest association of law enforcement professionals in the country.

“… as police professionals who most experience and witness the trauma and effects of criminal behavior wrecked upon our fellow citizens, we understand, all too well, the significance of dedicated public servants as you who possess the courage and compassion to promote the confidence in our government and courts,” said NYS Fraternal Order of Police President Michael Essig.

This endorsement joins a growing list of law enforcement professionals who have put their support behind Hoovler’s campaign, including:

  • Orange County Sheriff Carl DuBois
  • Orange County District Attorney’s Investigators Association
  • Orange County Corrections Officers Benevolent Association
  • Orange County Deputy Sheriffs Police Benevolent Association
  • City of Newburgh Police PBA
  • Town of Newburgh Police PBA
  • City of Middletown Police PBA

“I take immense pride in being able to state that my campaign is law enforcement-approved,” said Hoovler. “Our state and local law enforcement professionals deserve all the support they can get, and I’m committed to providing them additional training opportunities and equipment, as well as cultivate more support for them among officials and community members.”
